Now also a Certified REO - CREO

So how many designations and certifications do you really need to stay in the Real Estate business nowadays? I had no idea there was so much to learn when I first got into this :) I thought you get your license and off you go selling and buying homes... but far from that, you have to continiously work harder and harder. It's never ending and it's one of the toughest jobs out there and one of the least recognized too.  Why is that? This is really a serious business and very very competitive too :) I love it!

We are almost 15000 CDPEs

2009 is almost over and I'm grateful for this year! I learnt so much, met so many great people and helped so many more... I accomplished a bunch of designations in the real estate business.
The last one CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert)... I've really been focusing my energy in helping people... with my skills and knowledge I can help those who are losing their homes in foreclosure. If you know somebody in that situation please send them this way for a little bit of education on the different choices they have. Most people really don't know what to do or who to trust, many in the latino community. Born in Spain I can fortunately communicate in several languages and provide some good advice.
Merry Christmas to all!

Be in control of what goes INTO your brain

'If decisions are choices... and our thinking dictates our decisions - then we are where we are because of our thinking' _ President Harry S Thurman
I'm sure many of you have read the traveler's gift from Andy Andrews, maybe even some of you have seen him and met him in one of his seminars. I read his books and met him back in October '08 at our Keller Williams Colorado Reunion we had in Keystone. The guy is really funny and a total entertainer... so today to start the week with lots of fuel I decided to share with you some of his thoughts. He talks on his book about the 7 principles we all should remind ourselves on a daily basis for our personal success.
I loved his analysis about Lucy, his dog! I don't have pets but I have 4 lovely daughters and especially my youngest gets me to smile the quickest nowadays. She is still a baby and does not talk much :). When I hear her singing in her crib and go to get her, she greets me with this genuine happy smile like she has not seen me in a looong time, she gets so excited... It's amazing the amount of light and positive energy she can radiate after a good nap!. Every single time I get over-flooded with it, I become the happiest person out there and I just feel great no matter what else is happening in the world. This is the effect she has on me and this is the effect I want to have on people! Smiling is contagious, so find the reason that makes you feel happy and carry a picture of that with you everywhere. This picture can be stored in your mind or become the wallpaper on your computer screen, as long as you know how to access it when you need it, it's all that matters. I think of these happy moments several times thorough the day especially those days when I'm stressed, family, deadlines at work, finance... there are way too many reasons nowadays to get stressed, so... BE IN CONTROL OF WHAT GOES INTO YOUR BRAIN, remember that what comes in goes out so if you want to be successfull in whatever you are doing, personal or professional life, make sure only happy thoughts stay in your mind, share a smile with the person next to you.... Does it feel good?? Another trick to keep the happy mood is to write things you are gratefull for, write a bunch of them, 20 to 100, read them a few times out loud and you will have the energy required to overcome any obstacle on the day.

Green is Great

I'm so glad we can go greener and greener everyday, saving more trees and carrying just a CD with all the files instead of carrying around a huge pack of papers. What am I saying?, you don't even need a CD anymore, because everything can be stored on line. There are servers and back up servers everywhere.

In Metrolist Denver we have a great tool available to all agents member of metrolist called Instanet, it's really easy to use, you can upload all the disclosures or any document you scan previously into this server when you enter a new listing, therefore any buyer agent showing the property will have disclosures available at anytime. All the contracts are also available there, you can write them on line, sign them on line and send a link to your client so they easily perform an electronic signature once they log onto the server with documents are stored. It's just fantastic and fast. We have no excuse to go green, technology has made it easy and simple. We all need to make an effort an go green. Green is Great!
By the way, the photo I posted here is from the back yard of our previous house in the South of France. Could not find many pictures on my hard drive with trees on them...
